RQ-4B Global Hawk USN
Model Description

The RQ-4 Global Hawk is the only unmanned aerial system to meet the military and the Federal Administration Aviation's airworthiness standards and have approval to fly regular flights within U.S. airspace.

The US Navy took delivery of two of the Block 10 aircraft to be used to evaluate maritime surveillance capabilities, designated as N-1. Two more Global Hawks are assigned to the US Navy for evaluation of unmanned maritime surveillance missions. By early 2006, production will shift to the more advanced RQ-4B (Block 20). By mid 2005, the RQ-4B is already in production. On August 25, 2006, the RQ-4B will be fitted with a high-speed network interconnecting all systems onbard. The RQ-4B will use separated flight and sensor management systems. On August 2006, the first RQ-4B aircraft was rolled out.

The RQ-4B Global Hawk has significantly increased capability over the RQ-4A (Block 10) configuration. The RQ-4B could carry up to 3,000 pounds of internal payload and can operate with two-and-a-half times the power of its predecessor. The RQ-4B variant weighs at approximately 32,250 pounds when fully fueled for flight.
